Custom Jewelry from Guy Blando Jewelers

75% of what is purchased from this store is my custom crafted work. If you can't find what you want, we will work with you to create it.

What to Expect When Designing Custom Jewelry

We will work with you every step of the way: Talking through design details, creating a CAD design, developing a wax model - either hand-carved or created by aid of computer design modifications, then casting the custom piece and setting stones. Finally, we’ll polish and deliver the finished piece to you.

Discuss ideas

The process belongs with an hour-long sit down at our store to discuss ideas, examine any diamonds or gems you’d like to incorporate into the design and brainstorm ways to create a piece of jewelry you’ll love.

diamonds

Select diamonds

If you have diamonds or gems from another piece we’ll incorporate them into the design. If we’re starting from scratch, we’ll work within your budget to identify the cut, caret and clarity of each stone.

Create a CAD design

Once the diamonds and gems are selected, the piece is designed to exact specifications for the stones, ring size, and style. The CAD design will create a rendering hat allows the client to see the specifications of the piece before it is made. This allows us to easily create changes and try different designs ideas prior to making the ring.

Create a wax mode

Our CAD design software works with a wax machine to cut a perfect wax mold of the jewelry item. This is another method used to insure the design is what the client wants. The wax is then used in the metal casting process.

Build the design

The wax is cast then our professional setter, George, will set and secure the stones, ensure correct sizing and finish and polish the piece. Guy Blando Jewelers is a resizing partner of ICONIC.

Copyrighted Offset Square Shank

The offset square shank came from the basic need for the bottom of the ring to stay on the bottom and the top to remain at the top.

With the additional bottom weight of the square shank, gravity keeps the shank in place on the bottom. Looking at the palm of your hand, you will note the MP joint line at the base of the finger runs on a off set angle.

Building a ring to fit this angle, allows the square shank to fit into this joint. The top of the ring now set straight across the finger with the offset square shank resting in the pocket of the fingers MP joint. The bottom of the shank fit right in the grove of the MP joint making the ring very comfortable.

Every time you open a door or grab a steering wheel the bottom of a ring gets wear. Most of the wear in a ring shows on the outside bottom of the shank. The extra metal thicknesses in the square shank give the ring a longer life. The offset shank run an the same angle as your MP joint, providing for a more comfortable wear.

I use this copy righted design as a signature of my work.
